Since 2023, I have been working at the NYC Department of Design and Construction as a Junior Project Manager. This unique opportunity has allowed me to dive into the world of architecture, construction, and procurement for the city's unique portfolio of capital projects. I've collaborated with numerous cultural institutions and coworkers at the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs to deliver projects such as the Nuyorican Poets Cafe Renovation, the Queens Botanical Garden Education Center, the DeGraw Street Firehouse Renovation, the Marlboro Agricultural Education Center, and more.
This experience has shown me not only the importance of capital investments in NYC's expansive cultural scene, but also some of the systemic issues the city faces with design and construction projects on a day-to-day basis. Throughout my time, I've worked with countless coworkers to improve processes and explore new ways to get city work done on time, and on budget. |
